Get excited for the 3rd Annual Forks of the River Fly Fishing Festival! This will be a 2-day community event, held on November 4th and 5th, at beautiful Deerwoode Reserve in Brevard, NC. Headwaters Outfitters is proud to be organizing this festival for the 3rd year, and excited to collaborate with Davidson River Outfitters for this year’s event.

Throughout the weekend, Headwaters Outfitters and Davidson River Outfitters fly fishing guides will be hosting clinics and classes ranging from entomology basics, bass fishing tactics, casting lessons, Tenkara 101, a rod building demo, kids fishing course and more! Kevin Howell, owner and guide of Davidson River Outfitters, will lead a casting competition, so bring your best accuracy with you! Well known personalities in the fly angling world will be delivering informative speeches and presentations throughout both days. A mix of local vendors and industry leading name brands will have products, information and services on display to purchase and demo. You can expect to see top of the line fly rods, handmade nets, local art, handmade pottery, UTVs, vintage clothing, stand-up paddle boards and more!

Saturday, starting at 6:30pm, our good friends from Charleston, SC will rock the river valley! Dan’s Tramp Stamps & the Money Bags will put on one of the most lively concerts you can find this Fall in Western NC. With music genres ranging from classic rock, country, some funk and everything in between, this is a concert you do not want to miss. Bring your dancing shoes, you’ll need them!
Sunday, from 2pm-4:30pm, Transylvania County’s very own West Fork Fiasco will keep the vibes flowing with a groovy mix of cover songs, as well as originals from the band! If you’ve seen them before, you know the drill–nothing but good times allowed! So, grab a cold one and boogie on, baby!
