MADE X MTNS Launches 2024 Outdoor Gift Guide

Online directory makes it easy to shop products and experiences that support WNC’s outdoor industry as it begins to recover from the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA (November 27, 2024) – The MADE X MTNS Partnership has revamped its Outdoor Gift Guide for the 2024 Holiday Season, to make gift shopping easy for local outdoor gear and apparel, outside experiences, holiday sales, and nonprofit gift donations and memberships.

Featuring local outdoor businesses and organizations, including Outdoor Business Alliance of WNC members, the guide directly connects shoppers witn the outdoor brands born in Western North Carolina, making it easy to find the perfect gifts for family and friends, and access special holiday promotions and sales. The Outdoor Gift Guide helps support the local outdoor economy in these mountains at a time when community is more important than ever, as the WNC region begins a long road to rebuilding and recovery after the disastrous impacts of Hurricane Helene.

This year is more important than ever to shop with local WNC brands, as many are starting from scratch after suffering extreme damage,” says Outdoor Business Alliance of WNC Executive Director, Matt Godfrey. “The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has deeply affected us all, with several members of our outdoor industry family facing complete loss. Every purchase with a local gear company or outfitter makes a big difference in our industry coming back stronger. “

The Outdoor Gift Guide is part of the larger “Made by Mountains, Loved by Locals” Campaign, a groundbreaking national campaign highlighting the multitude of top-notch outdoor gear brands that call Western North Carolina home. The campaign amplifies the collective voice of our vibrant mountain community, and shines a spotlight on the incredible gear makers and outdoor retailers that make our region the Outdoor Industry Hub of the East.
